Why we come together

Small commitments.
Meaningful collective power.

The goal is a capital base whose income can help carry the cost of a lasting family protection program.

The contributions-only calculation

$8,670,000

$85,000 × 102 months = contributions over 8½ years.
This total counts no investment growth during accumulation.

AT AN ASSUMED 6% ANNUAL YIELD$520,200 / year

The intended outcome: support a $500,000 annual insurance budget while aiming to preserve the underlying capital.

Planning illustration, not current participation or a promised return. Assumes all 850 participants contribute every month without withdrawals. Taxes, expenses, losses, and changing yields affect the outcome.

What if contributions earn 6% while we build? +

With $85,000 invested at each month’s end and a constant assumed 6% nominal annual return compounded monthly, the illustrated balance reaches $11,273,998 after 8½ years. At a subsequent 6% annual yield, that represents $676,440 a year before taxes and expenses.

The $8.33 million threshold needed to generate $500,000 annually at 6% is reached in month 80 — about 6 years, 8 months. All earnings are reinvested during this period. Insurance premiums paid during accumulation require separate funding.

Actual returns fluctuate. These figures model a constant return; they do not establish an available investment rate or a guaranteed completion date.

The path from commitment to continuity

Build the capital.
Then put its income to work.

01

Contribute

Work toward 850 consistent participants at $100 a month, with contributions recorded and reported.

02

Accumulate

Build reserves and reinvest earnings. Keep the growing capital base focused on the long-term goal.

03

Fund protection

Use sustainable net income to support an insurance program sized to actual funding and carrier pricing.

04

Carry it forward

Aim to preserve capital, review coverage and income, and prepare the next generation to steward it.

What the income is meant to support

Protection today.
Continuity tomorrow.

Insurance is a central part of the plan: protect the people, help cover life’s disruptions, and develop a reserve for the family’s future.

LIFE & CONTINUITY

Permanent life insurance

Explore whole life coverage for long-term death-benefit protection and cash-value accumulation. Cash value may support policy loans under the contract’s terms.

ADDITIONAL PROTECTION

Convertible term life

Evaluate additional life coverage for the years it is needed, with conversion options subject to the policy’s rules.

INCOME & CARE

Disability & long-term care

Evaluate disability income protection for eligible earners and long-term care coverage to help address qualifying care needs.

FUTURE GENERATIONS

A children’s program

Explore coverage on eligible young family members with a long planning horizon. Ownership, consent, funding, and benefits must be defined before enrollment.

One funding goal.
A program designed around real people.

The $500,000 annual figure is a planning budget for the overall insurance program. It is not a promise of $500,000 to each participant, and a $100 contribution does not automatically issue a policy or determine an individual benefit.

Cash value is useful.
Borrowing still has a cost.

Policy loans accrue interest. Unpaid balances reduce available benefits and can put coverage at risk. Final premiums, coverage, ownership, and any borrowing plan depend on actual carrier illustrations, underwriting, and program terms.

Coverage is planned, not currently issued through this initiative. Illustrated cash values in the planning documents are estimates, not carrier guarantees. The funding illustration above excludes insurance spending during accumulation.

Our purpose

More than wealth.
A foundation for life.

The Salaam-Byrd Family Office brings the Salaam and Byrd lines together around a shared intention: that what we build should outlast us and serve the children who come after us.

Our founding charter sets four purposes: preserve capital, produce durable income, finance approved family opportunities on documented terms, and support future generations. We intend to build modestly and deliberately, with discipline rather than haste.

Family first. Generations forward.
Our priorities

A considered approach
to lasting prosperity.

Three connected priorities guide the institution we are building.

01 / PRESERVE
◇

Protect the foundation

Plan for family protection and liquidity, preserve capital, and keep clear records of what the family owns and how it is managed.

02 / BUILD
↗

Create enduring value

Build productive holdings and reinvest income. Consider family ventures and financing opportunities through documented decisions and responsible oversight.

03 / PREPARE
◎

Empower each generation

Pass on assets and the discipline to steward them. Develop a sustainable children’s program alongside financial education and orderly succession.

The long-term horizon

Five priorities.
Built in deliberate phases.

Objectives from the founding charter. Each is developed as the family’s resources and readiness allow.

01

Family protection

Evaluate life, disability income, and long-term care coverage around each family need, with policy ownership and purpose considered individually.

PROTECTION
02

Income & reinvestment

Develop a portfolio of dividend-paying stocks and funds, reinvesting income to strengthen the family’s long-term capital base.

COMPOUNDING
03

Physical reserves

Build a long-term reserve of physical gold and silver as one part of a broader family asset strategy.

RESILIENCE
04

Productive land

Evaluate land and associated water, mineral, or royalty rights with careful diligence and an appropriate ownership structure for each holding.

REAL ASSETS
05

The next generation

Design a sustainable program for the family’s children, tested against available funding and reviewed before enrollment or benefits begin.

CONTINUITY

These are long-term intentions, not a statement of current holdings, active coverage, or promised benefits.

The legacy we choose

We inherit a story.
We shape what
comes next.

The charter’s intention is to keep both family lines represented, preserve continuity, and pass down the discipline that makes lasting ownership possible.

01

Stewardship over short-term thinking

Build deliberately, protect capital, and favor durable income over hurried growth.

02

Opportunity with responsibility

Support approved family needs and ventures on documented terms, with clear responsibilities.

03

Unity with individual purpose

Preserve a voice for both the Salaam and Byrd lines as leadership passes to successors.

04

Integrity in every decision

Keep the family’s own capital separate from third-party funds, and make records and reporting part of stewardship.

“The greatest legacy is a family prepared to build its own future.”
Building the institution

Structure follows purpose.

The founding documents outline a shared family institution with defined responsibilities, written decision rules, and named succession. The trust, holding company, and operating policies remain subject to finalization and execution.

A shared charter. Preserve capital, build income, support approved family opportunities, and prepare future generations.

Clear governance. Define management responsibilities, document major decisions, and establish successors who preserve a voice for both family lines.

Coordinated ownership. The proposed framework places a family trust above a holding company, with ownership, management, and beneficiary interests clearly documented.

A deliberate launch. Finalize the governing documents, establish accounts and records, then expand only as resources support the next phase.

Where You Belong

Which path is mine?

Start with your relationship to the family. Explore the private family-office path or learn about a proposed, separate program for our extended circle.

Start here

Are you connected to the Salaam or Byrd family through birth, adoption, a step or foster relationship, legal guardianship, or as a spouse or spousal equivalent?

This is a starting question, not an eligibility decision. The qualifying family relationships must be documented against the designated common ancestor and applicable requirements.

Family relationship · Subject to review

The Salaam-Byrd Family Office

A private path intended for eligible family participants, focused on preserving family capital, planning for future needs and supporting generations to come.

  • Eligibility follows qualifying relationships, whatever your surname.
  • Participation is subject to relationship verification and the governing documents.
  • Benefits, contributions and access follow the applicable agreements and program terms.
Request family relationship review

Exploring this path does not establish membership, investment eligibility, ownership or an entitlement to benefits. No payment is requested here.

Extended circle · Proposed program

The Extended Circle

Family friends and relatives outside the qualifying family relationship are part of our wider community. We are exploring a separate way for that community to participate in the broader mission.

  • A proposed program outside the private family-office membership.
  • Any future structure would need its own eligibility rules, agreements, accounts and records.
  • Its structure, availability and participation terms have not been finalized.
Review the extended-circle path

This proposed program is not open for investment. This page requests no money, purchase commitment or investment reservation. Any future investment opportunity would require its own applicable legal process and disclosures.

Not sure which path fits?

A surname alone does not decide eligibility. A spouse or spousal equivalent may qualify, while that person's relatives do not qualify automatically through the marriage or partnership. Family relationships and special circumstances need individual review.

Do not assume you are excluded or approved based only on this page. Use the family relationship review form before selecting a participation route. Do not submit identity documents, children's information or family records through this interest form.

Request a relationship review

Family path: what happens next

Relationship review comes first. Any invitation to participate will identify the applicable entity, governing documents, contribution terms and available programs.

The family interest form below records a request for review only. It does not accept contributions or activate benefits.

Extended circle: what happens next

The separate program is still being developed. Information about any future opportunity will identify its structure, requirements and official participation process.

Extended Circle registration is not open. Exploring this path does not reserve an investment or enroll you in the family office.

One mission. Separate paths. Clear boundaries.

The Extended Circle is a proposed separate program. This page does not establish an offering, appoint an intermediary, confirm regulatory status or promise investment returns.

Take the next step
